Counting Snack Time
What You'll Need
- Small snacks β grapes, crackers, blueberries, or raisins work great
- Small bowls or a muffin tin for sorting
- A clean table or tray
Let's Do It!
- Spread a handful of snacks on a clean table or tray.
- Count them together out loud: "One, two, three⦠how many is that?"
- Sort the snacks into different bowls by type β grapes here, crackers there!
- Count each group: "How many grapes? Let's find out together."
- Make a simple pattern together: one cracker, one grape, one cracker, one grapeβ¦
- Celebrate with the best reward β eating the snacks!

Let your toddler lead the counting β even if they skip a number or count the same one twice. Gently repeat the correct count and celebrate the effort. The repetition across many snack times is what makes the numbers stick!
