Ages 2โ€“5 ~20 min ๐Ÿง‘โ€๐Ÿคโ€๐Ÿง‘ Supervised

What You'll Need

  • Large sheets of paper or cardboard
  • Washable finger paints (2โ€“3 colors to start)
  • A smock or old shirt for your toddler
  • A damp cloth or paper towels nearby
  • A protected surface (tray, plastic sheet, or newspaper)

Let's Do It!

  1. Lay paper on a flat, protected surface โ€” a tray or plastic sheet works great.
  2. Put a small dollop of each paint color on the paper or on a palette.
  3. Let your toddler explore freely with their fingers โ€” no rules, no wrong moves!
  4. Try making handprints together and trace around them with a finger.
  5. Name the colors as you go: "That's red! Can you find the blue?"
  6. Let the masterpiece dry completely, then hang it up with pride!
