Letter of the Day
What You'll Need
- A large piece of paper and a crayon or marker
- Or a whiteboard and dry-erase marker
- Your voice — for making letter sounds together!
Let's Do It!
- Pick a letter together — start with the first letter of your toddler's name!
- Draw the letter large together: uppercase B and lowercase b.
- Say the letter's name and its sound: "This is B. It says buh — like Ball!"
- Go on a house hunt: walk around finding things that start with that sound.
- Name each item you find: "Ball! Blanket! Banana! They all start with B!"
- Do a new letter every day — spell out their full name over the week!

Keep the mood light and exploratory — there's no pressure to get it "right." Even if your toddler finds things that don't start with the letter, celebrate the effort and gently model the correct sound. Consistency over days and weeks is what builds letter knowledge.
