Move Like Animals

Ages 2–5 ~15 min πŸƒ Active

What You'll Need

  • Some open floor space β€” clear the living room!
  • Your imagination (and some energy!)
  • Optional: animal pictures or cards to pick from

Let's Do It!

  1. Say: "Let's be animals! Pick one β€” what sounds fun?"
  2. Name an animal together and act it out β€” stomp like an elephant, hop like a bunny!
  3. Make the animal's sound while you move. Roar! Moo! Ribbit!
  4. Take turns picking the next animal β€” let your toddler choose!
  5. Mix it up: fast animals (cheetah!), slow animals (tortoise…), big and tiny.
  6. Finish with a calm, sleepy animal β€” a cat curling up for a nap works perfectly.

πŸ’‘ Parent Tip

Don't hold back β€” join in! Toddlers love seeing their parents be silly. The more enthusiastically you stomp and roar, the more your child will engage. This is also a great way to burn energy before quiet time.
